Disarm You With a Smile

I had to take Imo to the vet the other day. My beautiful black kitty started losing his fur, and wasn't eating normally. He was also lethargic and sore and just NOT HIMSELF! So I took him to the vet, fearing the worst. You know, AIDS or Leukemia.

Turns out, he's not got either one of those illnesses. But his fur! It's all gone from the backs of his back legs, and most of his tummy. he's also got patches missing on his front legs and back, down my his tail. It's just allergies! *whew* He's allergic to flea bits, and as he's an outdoor kitty, and we live in Florida, and our yard is quite sandy, he's gonna have fleas.

Also, he got into a nasty fight the other night and got a terrible cut on his back paw. The sheath on one of his paws was sliced open, and it was infected. Doc gave him some anitbiotics, that he just laps up, cuz they're sweet, and he had a steroid shot to stave off the allegic reaction so he's not overly grooming and pullin out his fur.

He's negative for the two nasty disease and I'm gonna be gettin' him vaccinated and castrated over the next month. He's a beautiful boy who loves people and is really very friendly. I want to keep him and take good care of him. And that's what I'm gonna do.

Ok, so by now, y'all know the saga of the pretty stray kitty I have named Imhotep. Yeah. and here are some piccies of my beautiful new boy.
