What is Fandom? a post byhesychasm that we all need to read. Those of us embroiled in wank, in writing, in betaing, in conversations. Those of us that need or WANT to remember why we do what we do. For those of us that are thinking about leaving, or taking a break, or burying ourselved in it. This post answers the questions about why we do it at all.
Fandom freakin' rocks!
And in order to show how much we believe this:
In lieu of this wonderful post, I'm (foxxcub) declaring the following week, starting today, to be Fandom Dedication Week. Write something, make icons, whatever you please, only dedicate it/them to someone in your favorite fandom, someone who has touched your life in some way and has made it just a little brighter. It could be your internet BFF or someone who delurked in your journal long enough to tell you they love your work. Or even an iconmaker/fic author who has helped feed your obsession!
Spread the love and pimp this out!!
So, go ahead, y'all. We all got some lovin's last week, with the appreciation posts, now let's give em a reason to appreciate us.
