Sam Disarm You With a Smile

Feedback I'm not really sure about....

...for reasons that are self explanatory.

I was reading some SGA fic this morning, and I get the little bell signalling some new email. And it's this fb concerning my story After Midnight.

Want criticism? So you said...Doubt it, but, hey...
I read this to the end just out of curiosity. I like slash especially in the Btvs universe. But what I read had most to do with bad SAS novels than with interesting, well-written stories - Sadism, absence of psychology -as if raped people loved to be -, bad characterization of Xander but one can excuse you, it was needed to make the story work. Xander was never so submissive. He hated vamps and would have become a pretty sadistic one, IMO. *See The Wish*
Complete lack of humor for Mr Harris is a pretty big sin. It's his trademark.
Not badly written -That's why I bother to annoy you with my mean words- but, geez, the story of Saint Xander the good, sub vampire loved by the oh so sick and annoying scourge of Europe? What a waste of talent.

Cut because my answers to this got long )

I gotta say, I like getting FB that makes me rethink myself. Examine and evaluate the choices I made in the story. Were there parts I felt were lacking? Hell yeah. I'm not perfect, and there are scenes that just don't ring right, but I'm not really sure how to fix them and keep to the story I wanted to tell. They're true to what's happening in the story, just they might not be true to the characters as they were given to us on the show. Particularly Angelus and Xander.

Anyway, to the anonymouse who took the time to leave the fb. Thanks for reading the story all the way through. I really do appreciate it. Also, thanks for taking the time to leave what I hope was thoughtful, honest feedback. It made me think about the story more, and see its problems and its strengths. The whole story was an experiment for me, as I don't normally do that dark kind of fic writing. Thank you for letting me know how you felt about it. I also appreciate that you can see some strengths in my writing. That cheers me immensely!
