Hey guys, those of you still reading anyway. I said last week that Home, There's No Returning was going to two week updates. This has been the hardest story I've had to write, because it just isn't wanting to tell itself. It keeps popping its head up and giving me idea, then withdrawing, so I'm having to do a lot of work on it - something I'm not really used to, becaue words usually come so easily to me - and I'm having to be really careful about character points in it, and plot points as well. I have a lot going on in my head, but so little of it has made its way to the page yet. Ergo, I foresee this being about 12 or 13 chapters.

What I'd like to ask of you guys is this: If you're reading, and you see something that I've dropped or you'd like to see something developed more, please let me know in comments. I'm a sucker for concrit, and as I'm in the middle of writing a chapter, some things get left forgotten. Now, on to the story essentials.

Hey everybody. If you've been reading my journal lately, you know that I've been fretting over a little thing known as Africander. Well. I have the first chapter done, and as this is the posting day, I'm going to go ahead and get it out there.

I'm not sure yet just how long this is going to be, possibly ten to twelve rather longish chapters. It is, of course, Xander-centric, and I hope my flisties enjoy it. I've had a tough time with it, but once I settled on where it was going, it started to flow out of me. So I'm looking at weekly updates at least, and will let you know when that goes astray.

Thanks to ludditerobot for hosting this ficathon, to liz_marcs for her unyeilding enthusiasm and support for the endeavor. Her posts with books, websites, and resources were just awesome. I hope my flisties who love Xander will mosey on over and read the stories that are going up.
